Filming for Steven Spielberg’s film War Horse took place in nearby Sheepstor close to Burrator Reservoir. Buckland Abbey, Cothele, Lydford Gorge, Saltram House are nearby, as well as Morwellham Quay, Princetown and Widecombe-in-the-Moor. Plymouth (9 miles) with Barbican Harbour Aquarium, Plymouth Hoe and Sound, restaurants, theatres, sporting activities, beaches. Tavistock (6 miles) offers shops, leisure centre, golf club, theatre, restaurants. North coast beaches within easy reach. Golf course 1 mile, tennis courts and bowling green opposite. Shops and pub ¼ mile.
