Rockley a former oast house, parts of which date back to 1740, is situated in the small hamlet of Tuesnoad near Bethersden. Providing a very high standard of holiday accommodation with oak and slate floors, a delightful decked terrace accessed via French doors leading off the spacious breakfast room, with a cosy log-burner for chilly evenings and some beautiful exposed beams. Set in spacious well kept grounds with a children’s play area, tennis court and fenced heated swimming pool with changing facilities, it provides ideal accommodation for friends and family groups. This is “Darling Buds of May” territory and every year at Pop Larkin’s Farm close by a classic car show is held for a perfect family day out. Also close by is a 40 acre reindeer centre – a magical visit at Christmas time. Ashford International is only a short car journey away for trips to Paris or Brussels! Other places to visit include Tenterden, the Jewel in the Weald, Biddenden Vineyard which produces wine, cider and apple juice and offers tastings. The South of England’s Rare Breed Centre provides a wonderful opportunity for children to become more “hands on” with the animals, or take a trip on the Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway.
