Set amongst the beautiful and tranquil location of the Trout Fishery just on the outskirts of the ancient stannary town of Tavistock on the edge of Dartmooor National Park, these delightful holiday properties form a cluster of barn conversions set around a courtyard. This little complex is very child friendly yet retains peace and quiet. Each property shares the facilities, including the use of the large stunning oak outdoor gazebo complete with BBQ and servery area. There is also a large purpose built play barn set in a detached oak building, an outdoor fully enclosed children’s play area with sand pit, bunny corner and grassed basketball and football area. There is even a quiet cedar summerhouse for you to read a book and quietly relax. Beauty theropy treatments are available (on request) at Abi’s Pamper Lodge beside the lake which include massage, waxing and Minx nail art. Outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy walking and cycling will love the rugged wilderness of the Dartmoor National Park and the market town of Tavistock with its farmer’s markets and Victorian antiques market. Honeymooners will love Pond Cottage, ref 25765, and the less mobile and wheelchair users will find that Old Stable ref 25767, has easy access and both stand detached as does Clearbrook Barn (ref 25768). Jack’s Den, ref 26705, and Amelia’s Corner, ref 26704, are both dog friendly, whilst Charlotte’s Barn, ref 26703, has fabulous views towards the trout lakes. Situated on the Trout Fishery site, you may want to practice your fly fishing skills. The many deep, clear lakes are home to rainbow and brown trout (tackle and tuition can be arranged). For the children, there is a fishing taster session where your 1st trout is free. Children will love the chickens, ducks and guinea fowl roaming in the farmyard, and they can feed the hens and collect the eggs every morning, and meet our friendly pot bellied pigs or the rabbits in bunny corner. Tavistock has independent shops and lots of restaurants, including our own pub just across the road, serving good home cooked food and real ales. Horse riding and golf can also be found locally. (from Easter 2012). Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub 200 yards.
