For golfers the 18-hole championship golf course at Southerness is within walking distance, and for bird enthusiasts the RSPB nature reserve sits just along the coast at Mersehead. Horse riding is available at Barend, and Gretna Green outlet village is only a short drive. Sweetheart Abbey, Drumlanrig Castle and Mabie Farm Park are all within easy reach.
