Set within 5 acres of peaceful countryside grazed by horses and 1 mile from the sea, these superbly renovated 17th-century holiday properties (refs IGM and IHW) offer extremely well presented and tastefully furnished accommodation. Retaining much original character, the Victorian spa town of Saltburn (1 mile) has unspoilt beaches. Formerly known for its fishing and salt panning, it boasts ornate Italian gardens and a tramway linking the upper town with the pier and promenade. The Cleveland Way runs along the high cliffs affording breathtaking views over the coastline, leading to the pretty fishing village of Staithes where Captain James Cook learnt his trade, with Whitby just a little further, and smugglers’ cove of Robin Hood’s Bay where tumbling cottages climb to the cliff edge.
