Surrounded by lovely rolling Devonshire countryside, these attractive barn conversions are well equipped, warm and cosy, providing a perfect rural retreat for couples at any time of the year. Occupying a remote setting on the edge of the village of Littleham, The Old Granary provides ‘upside-down’ style of accommodation to take full advantage of the lovely countryside views. Ash Tree Cottage, adjoining The Granary and sharing its views, is single-storey and has French windows leading onto its patio. Swallow Cottage, also single-storey, enjoys superb uninterrupted views down the valley.
The holiday cottages are situated just 2 miles from the historic port and market town of Bideford with its variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, and from where regular sailing trips to Lundy Island can be taken. They also lie within easy driving distance of Hartland where the dramatic English Heritage Coastline has been designated an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but there are also many other wonderful scenic walks both inland and coastal to enjoy. The fishing villages of Clovelly and Appledore are close by and well worth a visit, as are a host of other quaint little villages, each with its own unique character, charm and welcoming inn. The Tarka Trail offers walking and cycling along the estuary, with cycle hire available. Lovely sandy beaches for swimming and surfing are within 5 miles. Other places of interest are Dartington Crystal, Tapely Park and gardens and Rosemoor R.H.S gardens, all within 8 miles and, of course, the wild beauty of Exmoor is easily reached. Shop 2 miles, pub serving food, approximately 1 mile.
