Originally built in the 14th century as a sleeping chamber to the main house, this detached stone cottage, imaginatively furnished in country style, offers charming ‘upside down’ accommodation. From garden, three steps up to first floor: Beamed living/dining room with rugs on wooden floor, open trusses, patio doors to garden and farmhouse-style kitchen area with Belfast sink. Ground floor: Double bedroom with 5ft bed. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

Set at the edge of the picturesque village of Newton Ferrers, a haven for sailing and watersports, Parsonage Farm dates back to medieval times. The converted cottage and barn are adjacent to the main farmhouse, and each have their own garden and patio, as well as shared use of a children’s play area and meadowland. Many excellent beaches nearby, with good walking on the South Devon Coastal Path, and the open spaces of Dartmoor only half an hour away. Plymouth is within easy reach, offering many historic attractions and the National Aquarium. Several rocky and sandy coves nearby, ideal for picnics and bathing. Horse riding locally. Excellent bistro, restaurant, shops and pubs on the water’s edge, 800 yards.
