In a tiny hamlet, nestled among the vine-clad slopes of the Haut Languedoc, this elegant house is the principal part of a vineyard owner’s house, built in 1910. Full of period charm, yet providing all modern comforts, it enjoys lovely views of the hills to the south. The living room opens on to a terrace, while the dining room leads to a side lawn with barbecue and furniture. There is a large enclosed garden with mature trees just a few steps from the terrace, across a narrow lane. The house is situated close to Haut Languedoc Nature Reserve with walking and fishing, yet just a short drive from the coastal Mediterranean resorts. There are excellent restaurants at Pézenas, many local wine ‘caves’ to visit, a river beach at Roquebrun and beautiful Lac du Salagou, all closeby.
