Description of Rose Cottage

Close to the shores of Lake Windermere, this charming holiday cottage has an enclosed terrace with furniture. One of a pair, it is 1/2 a mile from the centre of Bowness, where some of Lakeland’s finest shops and restaurants can be found. Golf, tennis, pony-trekking and excellent walking are available locally, as well as a wide range of water sports. Steamboats cruise the lake from Waterhead down to Lakeside at the southern tip of the lake, where the Haverthwaite to Lakeside Steam Train runs regular trips, and the Aquarium of the Lakes is situated, and also up to Ambleside at the northern tip of Lake Windermere. The car ferry takes visitors across the lake to the Grizedale Forest, Sawrey (home of Beatrix Potter), Hawkshead and Coniston. Kendal 9 miles. Shops ½ mile.
