A wonderful opportunity to stay in this superb slate-built, detached holiday cottage conveniently situated beside the road to Coniston, with views across a field to Coniston Water. Benefiting from a garden and good parking, this spacious house offers a perfect base to explore the central Lake District with many activities within walking distance – climbing, water sports, trips on the Gondola, or just strolling around Coniston Water reflecting on the history of the Campbell family and their amazing land speed records in the 1950s and 60s with their famous ‘Bluebird’ power boats. Mountains are nearby to be climbed - The Old Man of Coniston, Wetherlam and Swirl How can be walked in a day for fantastic views. The Langdales are a little further away and all the beautiful lakes can be reached along wonderful scenic drives. History is also an important part of the Lake District and museums and historic houses and gardens are plentiful. Muncaster Castle and gardens make an excellent day out where visitors can admire the fascinating collection of owls in the Rare Owl Centre. Shops and restaurant ½ mile, pub 150 yards.
