Have a holiday with a difference, a real adventure in the peaceful countryside. Just over the River Tamar in Devon is this spacious 14th-century wing of the owner’s farmhouse. Within beautiful countryside on a 240-acre working organic dairy farm yet just 15 miles from Bude and the stunning north Cornish coast, it is the ideal peaceful retreat. Farmer and son will be there to welcome you and give you the opportunity to be close to nature, see the cows being milked, the calves being fed and if you are lucky you might see a calf being born. Guests are free to explore the stunning grounds surrounding the property down to the River Claw through a beautiful wooded valley. An abundance of wildlife and fauna will great you. Regularly seen on the farm are red deer, badgers, foxes and hares, and in the evenings, several species of bats. For the patient few, otters and kingfishers have been spotted and for those up early enough to hear the dawn chorus, it is a magical experience. A stunning location that has something for everyone. Fishing, golf and riding are available locally and walkers and cyclists will be spoilt for scenic routes. The historic market town of Holsworthy is just 5 miles away, and has a good selection of local shops, town amenities, restaurants, indoor pool, 18-hole golf course and gift shops.
