It is one of the best surfing beaches on the south coast and is also popular with windsurfers. Salcombe and Bigbury are approximately 5 miles. Within an easy drive are Dartmouth and Totnes, which enjoy prominent positions above the River Dart, both full of colour and character that stems from a rich cultural, historical and archaeological heritage with museums, churches, castles and riverside quays.
