Tenby Cottages

Holiday Cottages in Tenby

TenbyQuite possibly the prettiest seaside town in the whole of Wales, Tenby was designated a conservation area in 1972 by the Pembrokeshire National Park.  Enjoyed by holiday makers for many, many years yet still retaining its quaint charm, Tenby’s original name is Dinbych y pysgod or little town of fishes.

The ancient Norman defensive walls can still be seen, originally protecting the medieval town and the ruins of the Norman castle still stand against the winter storms on the headland.  Take your time to enjoy the town’s winding streets, pedestrianised during the summer, and the picturesque colourful Georgian houses lining the small harbour.  Tenby has no less than three Blue Flag beaches, plus, the harbour also boasts its own clean sandy beach – great for little ones and all close to your holiday cottage.

Things to do in Tenby

Culture lovers make a bee-line for the National Trust owned Tudor Merchants House and Tenby Museum and Art Gallery.  Take a boat trip out to Caldey Island’s Cistercian monastery from Tenby’s harbour, or simply enjoy the beaches and messing about in a pedal boat along with all the other watersports on offer from Tenby Marine.

For a fabulous family day out, head for The Dinosaur Park on the way to St Florence. Check out too Heatherton Country Sports Park for an impressive array of outdoor activities and for great animal goings-on Manor House Wildlife and Leisure Park.  For the older and more adventurous of us enjoy quad biking and grass karting at Ritec Valley Quad Bikes.

After a hard day’s browsing the craft galleries and boutique shops or outdoor fun and games, enjoy Tenby’s great bistros, bars, cafés and restaurants.  All within easy reach of your holiday cottage.
