Ullapool

Nestled on the east shore of Loch Broom and originally a herring port, the picturesque fishing village of Ullapool was founded in 1788.  Today, Ullapool is still busy with fishing boats, as well as yachts, pleasure boats and ferries making regular trips to the Outer Hebrides and Stornoway.  It’s the perfect place for cruises to visit the rare and exciting bird and sea life that frequents the Highland shores, visiting the beautiful Summer Isles or for fishing in the fertile waters of the Loch.

Despite its small size, Ullapool is full of bars and restaurants with a surprisingly diverse selection of live events and festivals happening throughout the year.  The town is an excellent base for exploring, with sea lochs, mountain scenery and deserted golden sands all close by your holiday cottage.

Things to do in Ullapool
