Things to do in Inverness

There is plenty to explore and enjoy in Inverness from the fine Museum and Art Gallery to the historic buildings in the Old Town.  Join a guided walking tour or a boat trip down the River Ness, there’s also a marina not far from the centre and three excellent golf courses around the city as well as the beautiful subtropical Floral Hall Gardens.

Out of town, the stunning countryside offers excellent walking on the Great Glen Way and cycle routes; superb fishing for salmon, trout and pike, and plenty more outdoor activities including canoeing, archery, abseiling and even ‘weaseling’ – a cross between caving and pot holing.  Make a date in July to join in the annual spectacle of the Inverness Highland Games, check out Nairn beach for sandcastles and super Black Isle Wild Life Park to see local wildlife and more exotic inhabitants!
