Today, Aviemore is a fantastic ski resort and all year outdoor activities centre.  Surrounded by the outstanding natural beauty of the Cairngorm National Park, awesome mountains and glittering River Spey, this is a stunning location for your Scottish cottage holiday. Things to do in Aviemore

For adrenaline fuelled fun check out the ski and snowboard hire on Cairngorm Mountain, as well as climbing, walking and wildlife watching.  Outdoor activities by the bucket load are also to be found at Rothiemurchus, from archery to canoeing, quad biking and white water rafting, there’s something to suit even the most adventurous souls!

With peaceful countryside and 64km of off road routes, cycling is a hugely popular pastime as is fishing, especially on beautiful Loch Insh. Scotland, voted Destination of the year 2009 by UK golfers means top courses are scattered throughout this fabulous region with hire facilities available.  For wild family fun there’s the Landmark Forest Adventure Park and the The Strathspey Steam Railway for a great day out, plus the Highland Folk Museum and arty activity at The Imagination Workshop.
