Things to do in Somerset

Top seaside fun can be found in Minehead.  Surrounded by beautiful Exmoor, Minehead’s easily accessible long golden Blue Flag beach is backed by picturesque North Hill.  The town’s wide, tree lined boulevards open out on to the charming sea front with its cafés, boutiques and restaurants. Minehead is also the base for the West Somerset Railway.  The longest preserved steam railway in the country its route will take you through some stunning countryside.  Be it watersports at Wimbleball Lake, waterskiing and surfing off the west coast, walking the South West Coastal Path or enjoying a night at the Regal Theatre, Minehead is a great cottage holiday base.

For top family days out experience the Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, plus animal lovers make a beeline for Exmoor Falconry and Animal Farm and Exmoor Zoo.  Step back in time on the cobble streets of Frome and Bruton; storm the walls of romantic Dunster or impressive Farleigh Hungerford Castles and marvel at epic Wells Cathedral.  You’ll also find a wealth of wildlife and nature to enjoy including Shapwick Heath National Nature Reserve or simply spend your time just enjoying walking, cycling and riding through the beautiful and inspiring scenery of Exmoor National Park.
