Holiday Cottages in Herefordshire

Welcome to Herefordshire

Bordering the Welsh hills to the west, rural Shropshire to the North and the Cotswolds and Warwickshire to the east, the lush rural county of Herefordshire ripples out from the cathedral city of Hereford in a patchwork quilt of orchards, vineyards, pasture and woodland.  Threaded through with glittering rivers, this is a mellow, rural landscape, perfect for your cheap cottage holiday.

Herefordshire bristles with colourful heritage and pageantry. Settled by the Saxons and Normans, invaded frequently by the Welsh and home of superb cider brewing, today the county’s unspoilt countryside and bustling ‘black and white’ market towns offer plenty to see and do with a reputation for gorgeous gastro delights.

A bishop’s seat by 700 AD with a weekly market and, burial place of St Ethelbert, a tourist attraction by 794 AD the city of Hereford has long been an important regional centre.  Walkers love Malvern, a charming 19th century spa town, favourite of Elgar and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with fantastic views from the Malvern Hills.  Hay on Wye attracts the cream of the literary world to its annual Festival in May and currently boasts over 30 book shops.

If you like the big outdoors, you won’t be disappointed; walking, cycling, fishing, golf, watersports and all manner of adrenalin fuelled fun are on offer in one of the most picturesque counties in the UK.  Whatever you’re looking for in a great cottage holiday, you’ll find it all close to your welcoming cottage in Herefordshire.
