The delightful market town of Stow-on-the-Wold is possibly one of the best known of the Cotswolds towns. The elegant market square, pretty stone houses and mix of chic bistros, antique shops and charming tea rooms make it a beautiful location and great base for your cottage holiday, as the surrounding countryside boasts many attractive villages (such as nearby Broadway), fantastic heritage and of course, outstandingly beautiful rural walks.
There are many excellent walking routes for soaking up the surrounding countryside – both the Cotswold Way and Gloucestershire way are within easy reach or why not saddle up and enjoy a pony trek in this superb riding country? A wealth of historic houses in the area offers bags of choice; Hidcote Manor in particular boasts ‘one of England’s greatest gardens’. You’re close to historic Cheltenham for great shops, the GWR Heritage Railway at Winchcombe for a great day out and kids love the animals at the Cotswold Farm Park.
