Pronounced, ‘Mowzel’, Mousehole is a fascinating little fishing village that has miraculously kept its unique character and charm with the tiny cottages, built from the local granite, huddled around the small harbour. Today, you’ll find cosy cafés and boutique craft shops threading throughout the village and quaint, picturesque pubs along the quayside. Fishing boats still tie up on the ancient quay, part which dates from 1390, keeping the true heritage of Mousehole alive.
A lovely place to relax and unwind, Mousehole has a small, safe sandy beach – perfect for families. Just along the coast you’ll also find a huge cave, that some say gave Mousehole its name. Founded in 1928, pay a visit to the Mousehole Bird Hospital and Sanctuary. Stand on the tip of Britain at Lands End just up the coast and walk the breathtaking coastal path over to Lamorna with views out over the bay to the Lizard Peninsula.
