Holiday Cottages in Fowey

Fowey

Pronounced ‘Foy’ like ‘Joy’, this unspoilt and ancient town with its medieval and Tudor cottages, narrow winding streets and picturesque estuary overflowing with yachts, dinghies and schooners nestles among the sandy coves of the gorgeous South Cornwall coastline.  Drake, Raleigh and Frobisher all sailed from Fowey and Queen Victoria paid the town a visit in 1846.  More recently, novelist Daphne du Maurier who loved, lived in and wrote about the area is celebrated in Fowey’s annual Daphne du Maurier Festival.

Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this region is a delight for walkers and ramblers; its natural harbour a haven for yachtsmen and its many shops, galleries and eateries provide everything from Cornish cream teas to gourmet meals, all adding up to a truly enchanting holiday cottage destination.
