Cambridge

Cambridge is a city of rare sights and wonders.  Packed with superb architecture and oozing heritage, some of the finest minds in our history have passed through its university college portals and still do.  The unique atmosphere of this historic city infuses its highways and byways, but don’t be mislead, Cambridge is also a vibrant, modern and cosmopolitan centre surrounded by beautiful countryside and brimming with things to see and do.

Just fifty miles from London, the area around Cambridge was settled long before the Romans and grew with the arrival of the Vikings and their busy trading routes; Cambridge University was established in 1209 by students reputedly fleeing the hostile townsfolk of Oxford!  Today, Cambridge is a great destination for a cottage holiday where you can be as busy or relaxed as you please. Beyond its ancient spires, great shops and snug pubs you can immerse yourself in the beautiful landscape and waterways of the Fens.  Home to migrating birds, abundant wildlife and a super spot for walking, cycling, riding, golf and watersports, you may find you’ll need a little more time!
