With a reputation for being one of the hottest spots on the south coast Montpellier is found in Hérault along with Cap d’Agde a Mediterranean resort hugely popular with the French (of which the naturist beach is just a small part).  A wonderful place for watersports in the étangs, or saltwater lakes, you’ll find safe bathing, watersports and rich wildlife habitats.  Walking, cycling and horse riding are all great ways to enjoy the coast and countryside with bags of activities and attractions for everyone to enjoy.

Things to do in Gard & Hérault

For unparalleled natural beauty, flora and fauna check out the Camargue National Park in the Rhône river delta.  Walking, cycling and horse riding are the best ways to enjoy this protected biosphere; guided by a local Gardian (cowboy) see the iconic white horses, flamingos and bulls. Also not to be missed is 2000-year-old Nîmes’ Roman antiquity including the Pont du Gard, Temple of Diana, walls and epic amphitheatre where events are still held today.  Gardens include 18^th century Jardins de la Fontaine much loved by locals.
