Things to do in Aude

Renowned for its Cathar history visit their ruined strongholds at Queribus and Peyrepertuse.  Step back in time in medieval Carcassonne, as you wander the narrow streets, walk the ramparts and watch the regular jousts. Another lovely spot is the cloisters and charming rose gardens of 12^th century Fontfroide Abbey found to the south-west of Narbonne and the Baron of Bonrepos’ epic Canal du Midi for a tranquil lazy days boating.  Strap on your boots and enjoy hiking in the lovely Gorges de l’Aude working up an appetite for the regions superb seafood.
